The 2027 Lib Tech Skunk Ape is the dream board for the bigger guy who struggles to find suitable boards. Only being made in wide sizes, the Skunk Ape isn't just a big version of another board - it's specially designed to deliver top tier performance and zero drag for big guys with big boots (the smallest waist width being 26.8cm!). Lib Tech have used their Horsepower construction to maximum effect, creating a smooth and strong ride that is suitable for any type of terrain, and combined with their Hybrid C2x Directional camber profile, gives you float, power, and performance wherever you want to take it. 

• Board Type: All Mountain-Freeride- All Mountain snowboards are versatile boards that excel across various terrains, from groomed runs to off-piste. These boards offer solid edge control and responsiveness, making them a great option for riders who want one board to do just about everything.
  Freeride snowboards are built for steeper, off-piste terrain. These boards are ideal for aggressive riding and usually for more advanced riders.
• Flex: 6/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)- Offering a balanced blend of flexibility and stiffness, mid-flex boards are versatile and suitable for all-mountain riding. They provide enough responsiveness for carving while maintaining some forgiveness for playful or casual riding.
• Ability Level: Intermediate- Intermediate snowboards offer more responsiveness and stability at higher speeds, with a slightly stiffer flex for better control on varied terrain and more advanced manoeuvres.
• Shape: Directional Twin- A directional twin snowboard has a symmetrical shape but with a slightly shifted stance, making it ideal for riders who want the versatility of a twin for freestyle, with the added stability of a directional design. It performs well both regular and switch but excels in one direction, offering improved control on varied terrain.
• Camber Type: C2x Directional- Shortened rocker between your feet with lengthened directional camber to the tip and tail gives you power and pop on groomers and in the park along with float and freedom to charge through powder. More loaded pressure in the tip and tail than regular C2 for a more aggressive and stable ride.
• Width: Wide, Ultra Wide- Wide boards are for those with large boot sizes and provide extra flotation, reduced drag, and never feel clunky or cumbersome underfoot.
• Ultra Wide boards are made for those with the biggest size boot, typically US 14+, they provide enough width to minimise heel and toe drag.
• Inserts: 2x4 Inserts- These offer a tighter hole pattern, allowing for more precise stance adjustments. They're common on modern boards and ideal for riders who want fine-tuned positioning and can be used with any binding with a standard or mini disk.
• Topsheet: Eco Sublimated Poly Topsheet- This topsheet is made using an eco-friendly sublimation that is both strong and environmentally friendly.
• Laminate: Tri-Ax/Bi-Ax Fiber with Basalt Alloy- The Tri-Ax and Bi-Ax alloy glass offers a smooth ride while keeping weight low and the addition of Basalt fiber creates a lightweight, strong, and damp ride.
• Core: HP - Horsepower Construction Core- Lighter, environmentally nicer, and smoother. Combines 60% Aspen and 40% Paulownia woods with Triax and Biax Fibreglass for a lighter, smoother, and damp ride.
• Sidewall: Birch Internal, UHMW Sintered Sidewall- Durable, high-impact ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. It delivers exceptional impact resistance, superior resilience, and a smooth, damped ride.
• Base: Sintered Knife Cut Base- This base is made of a fast sintered material with a die-cut base to reduce waste.
• Magne-Traction- Seven strategically placed serrations along the edges of the board grip onto the snow and hold a strong edge in any condition.
• UHMW Tip/Tail Impact Deflection- By removing the edge around the nose and tail and replacing it with UHMW material, you no longer need to worry about running your nose and tail into objects and damaging the edge. This makes it easy to repair and reduce swing weight.
